Normally, about three days after we pass your documents to schools, we can get a reply from the school. When you get the offer, please check about the location, salary, the recommendation, working hours and the age of students. These items are the main things you need to consider carefully.
In most of the cases, the school rents an apartment before you arrive in China. There must be some furniture, washing machines, television, refrigerator, water heater and air conditioner in the apartment. The school will pay for the apartment. You may need to set up telephone and the broadband if you need them or you may just use a Chinese SIM card in your mobile phone. For the apartment you need to pay the gas, electric, water and the broadband/phone by yourself. The schools are able to assist you in setting up the broadband/phone and paying bills.
For the working hours, in fact, it means how many lessons you need to finish per week. You still need to spend several hours to prepare for the lessons and sometimes you need to take part in the activities arranged by schools.
How much you work, determines how much you will be paid. In the public school the lessons you need to do are less, and you can have summer or winter holiday. So the salary is less too. In private schools, lessons are more, and you just have government holidays. The salary is accordingly higher.
When you receive the offer, please let us know your opinions as soon as possible. You can ask us questions, we will answer them, or ask the school for the answers and pass them on to you. But the time is limited; the school always needs your reply soon. Because we are dealing with a lot of teachers at one time, if we can’t get the reply from you in three days, we will pass the offer to other teachers. That means you lose the chance. So please reply to us and ask us questions as soon as possible, let us know you are still interested in this position.
If you are interested in the position we supply to you, we will arrange a telephone interview between you and the school. The school always wants to check about your accent before they sign a contract with you. As you know the oral English is the most important teaching part for foreign teachers.
We will email you the telephone number of the school. You need to make the call on the time we tell you in the email. Somebody will answer the call, and ask you some questions. You also can ask him/her questions you want to know too. In the next day, we will tell you the result.
By the way, we would like to suggest you and the school to do the interview online by Skype. It will be cheaper, and the school can see you, if you have a webcam.
