Photo
The recent photo is the most important document as it is the first impression that the schools will get of you. It should be clear/well lit, preferably a plain background, you should have a natural smile & the absence of obvious tattoos & facial piercing is recommended. A waist up shot is best & smart casual, or better, attire is preferred. Men should wear a collared shirt, a tie or suite is not necessary but if you have them it can be good.
It is best to spend some time of this as it is very important. Also while you have the camera out and dressed up it is probably good to take a few full length and closer shots as well. Some schools ask for more photos and full length photos later.
(There are no discrimination laws in China and schools will openly reject teachers on looks alone)
Do not send us pictures of you at a recent wedding where you have obviously not realised that there is a pile of alcohol bottles in front of you or that favourite picture with your favourite tee shirt in front of your favourite bookshelf.
It is worth spending a bit of time on this because it is your first impression that you will make with the school. Schools will look at your picture before your resume or anything else.
Also it is best to send us the full picture file so that it is a good size picture. Don’t shrink the file or insert it into a word file to send. It is best to have a large picture where the schools can have a good view of you.
